Speed / Wheel Diameter
Additional information such as speed or wheel diameter offers the operator the opportunity to optimise the waiting time at the level crossing, for example, or to detect vehicle types by different wheel diameters.
Central evaluation of the analogue wheel sensor signal forms the basis for exact detection and calculation of the diameter and the speed of the traversing axle. The capability to determine these parameters reliably and selectively constitutes one major advantage of Frauscher’s wheel detection system architecture.
Useful additional information
These values are made available via a software protocol in each case and it is therefore a simple and direct step to process them further in the customer application.
