Highly resistant to interference: RSR122/123

The wheel sensor family RSR122/RSR123 was originally developed on the basis of requirements stipulated by Deutsche Bahn. Wheel sensors from this range are now in use throughout the world.

The wheel sensor RSR123 may be understood as a follow-up product or further development of the wheel sensor RSR122. The wheel sensors RSR123 and RSR122 are compatible as far as interfaces and fixing to the rails are concerned.

Highlights of the wheel sensor RSR123 include:

  • Optimum resistance against electromagnetic interference, thanks to the patented V.Mix technology®
  • Convenient plug-in connection for the connecting cable
  • Automated calibration process from outside the hazardous area.

Consequently, wheel sensors of type RSR123 are used by preference wherever strong electromagnetic fields can be expected - use of the linear eddy current brake (LWB), low-lying transformers or drive motors and similar devices.

Further advantages of the wheel sensor RSR123:

Time-consuming compatibility checks with regard to electromagnetic compatibility can be simplified. Automatic calibration away from the track guarantees that users spend as little time as possible in the hazardous area and also rules out calibration errors. The cable plug saves valuable time during assembly and temporary disassembly of the sensor, for example due to tamping or grinding work. A strongly progressive effective distance only detects metal parts that are located between the top edge of the rail and the sensor surface.
