Frauscher grows stronger in Poland
St. Marienkirchen/Katowice. In 1998, Frauscher Polska Sp. z o.o. became the company’s first location outside of Austria. Ever since, the Polish railway industry has increased its trust in their products. Until today, this country is a very important and constant market for Frauscher. Active partnerships, for example with experts such as SIG-MONT, underlined this positive trend. Now a next step has been set in these companies relationship, as Frauscher acquired a major share of SIG-MONT.
Joint products for specific requirements
A solid fundament for this has been created over the years during which SIG-MONT received the certificate for operating a specifically developed line block system based on the Frauscher Axle Counting System ACS2000 on Polish railways. The innovative CBL2010 replies to specific requirements and supports the use of modern axle counters in the Polish railway market. It can work with all types of station interlockings and level crossing protection devices.
“Uniting two companies that work with joint products means being able to work on projects with a better focus. But it also means uniting know-how from both ends – which allows for even more customised solutions and an optimised integration of components into new and existing systems”, Andrzej Bartnik, Managing Director of Frauscher Polska, says. He has taken on his role only in September 2018, but is very familiar with the company and its products. Bartnik spent almost 22 years of his professional life with Bombardier, taking various engineering and management positions. He took part in the development of various products, such as line block systems, object controllers or level crossings. Additionally, he was active as Product Owner for axle counters. In 2012 he took on the role as Manager of the Wayside Products R&D department in Katowice, Poland and Plymouth, UK, before entering the world of Frauscher.
Developing specific solutions together
By acquiring SIG-MONT, Frauscher stays true to its philosophy of speaking their customer’s language to provide best service on-site. “We welcome the colleagues from SIG-MONT to the Frauscher family and are sure that this will strengthen our position in Poland”, Bartnik explains. “Frauscher is a name that has become indispensable in Poland, when it comes to track vacancy detection and various other railway applications. Now we made sure that this will not change in future. Therefore, I trust this acquisition was an important step in serving the Polish railway market with high quality solutions”, he concludes.
