10 years with Frauscher: CEO Michael Thiel celebrates anniversary
Michael Thiel has celebrated his anniversary at Frauscher Sensor Technology in June 2019, as he is with the company since 2009. He seized the decade to transform the company into an international leader in the area of train detection and tracking solutions.
During this time, Frauscher Sensor Technology founded no less than twelve locations and representative offices across the globe in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, UK, United Arab Emirates and USA. In 2019, two more offices were added in Vienna, Austria, and Belgrade, Serbia. Frauscher’s present turnover of 70.9 Mio EUR (2018) is a 5 fold increase from its 2009 figure of about 14 Mio EUR. An even greater increase over the last ten years was in its employee strength – from a total staff of 55 in 2009 to 430 in 2019.
Together with the whole company and the industry, Frauscher’s portfolio has grown stronger over the years. Michael Thiel’s open mind-set and his keen interest in innovative technologies and approaches have always been a driving engine behind these developments. Having worked as a signalling mechanic at the main rail station in Leipzig and studied rail automation in Dresden later, he is familiar with practical requirements and uses this knowledge to give valuable inputs for future-oriented solutions against the backdrop of increasing digitalisation.
