Frauscher Officially Part of Wabtec: A New Chapter in the Rail Industry’s Digital Transformation

Wabtec officially completed the acquisition of Frauscher Sensor Technology on 1 December 2025. This unites two leading companies in the rail industry to accelerate innovation and digitalisation, strengthen global presence, and deliver safer, smarter transportation solutions. To celebrate the moment, Frauscher conducted a global all-employee meeting across 15 locations where employees gathered on-site and virtually.

At the all-employee meeting, Michael Thiel, CEO Frauscher Sensor Technology, and Nalin Jain, President of Wabtec Digital Intelligence, shared the stage in Austria to welcome the entire Frauscher team to this new chapter. The meeting was streamed to Frauscher locations around the globe, so that every employee could participate.

The message was clear – with Frauscher becoming part of Wabtec – there are a wide range of opportunities ahead.
