FTVS works hand in hand with the Wheel Sensor RSR110 and the innovative RSR310. Both wheel sensors support precise wheel detection and track vacancy detection. Analogue signals from the field are converted into digital outputs via the Wheel Signal Converter WSC, while the Wheel Counting Board WCB delivers reliable information on the occupation status of specific track sections within this cost-effective system.

Like all Frauscher solutions, FTVS works reliably under the most adverse conditions: extreme temperatures, flooding, ice and snow or dust have no effect on performance. The system also impresses with its long maintenance intervals.

Flexibility in application

This axle counting solution can be used for a variety of applications:
As a standalone system or overlay to an existing system. It can even be used as a "spot fix" for problem areas in difficult environmental conditions, or where track and/or ballast have deteriorated. The FTVS is also ideal in tight spaces such as around switch points, that can make use of other train detection equipment difficult or impossible.

User-friendly installation and footprint

Due to its space-saving DIN rail mount, the axle counter FTVS requires a small footprint in wayside enclosures. Thereby it is suitable for installation in tight spaces.

For greater safety, calibration can be carried out via the indoor equipment – eliminating the need to spend time on track.

Reduced track time and increased safety for personnel is also achieved during installation of the sensor: It is mounted using the patented Frauscher rail claw and attached to the rail in minutes, without drilling or bonds, while the plug-in cables reduces installation time even further.

Diagnostics on demand

With the right equipment, FTVS also provides valuable diagnostic data. For example, local diagnostics is available via the Frauscher service display ASD – made possible by our Wheel Sensor Converter WSC. Integration into higher-level diagnostic systems is also possible via this serial interface.
